Few people have heard of Kyrgyzstan; and even fewer have heard of their trailblazing, freestyle wrestler, Aisuluu Tynybekova. But Aisuluu has big plans to change all of that as she trains for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
SYNOPSIS Aisuluu Tynybekova (27) hails from one of the most remote mountain villages in the heart of Central Asia and is a pioneer for athletes and women in the Kyrgyz Republic. Despite competing in two Olympic games, London and Rio, Aisuluu went home empty-handed. Determined to get another Olympic shot, she not only competed and qualified for Tokyo 2020, but at the recent World Wrestling Championships, became the number one ranked wrestler in the world in her weight class. No other man or woman, has earned such an honor for Kyrgyzstan. In a region where the average girl is married off early, Aisuluu, chose a different path and is dead set on winning the gold.
